A high-frequency trading firm in Amsterdam is hiring an FPGA Engineer to build and optimise hardware-based trading systems. This is a hands-on role with full ownership across the FPGA development lifecycle, working closely with software engineers and traders to deliver low-latency, production-grade solutions.
What You’ll Do:

Design and implement FPGA solutions for latency-critical and high-throughput trading workloads

Own delivery end-to-end: architecture → RTL → verification → synthesis/implementation → timing closure

Build robust verification using self-checking testbenches and simulation-driven workflows
-
Work with software engineers on interfaces and integrated system delivery

Support deployment, bring-up, and debugging (post-silicon experience is a plus)
Technologies:
-
VHDL / Verilog / SystemVerilog (C/C++ is a plus)

RTL synthesis and constraints (timing, area, and performance targets)

Digital simulation and verification toolchains

Timing closure and optimisation for deterministic performance
Your Profile:

Master’s degree in CE, EE, CS, or related technical field

Professional experience designing, coding, testing, and verifying FPGAs and/or ASICs

Strong RTL fundamentals and experience with synthesis + constraints

Experience with digital simulators and self-checking testbenches
-
Comfortable working closely with software developers to deliver integrated systems

Bonus: post-silicon bring-up and debugging
