This role is responsible for delivering secure, resilient, and performance-optimized endpoint platforms across a global enterprise environment. The ideal candidate combines strong virtualization expertise with automation skills and a reliability-focused engineering mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer, deploy, and optimize VMware Horizon VDI environments.
- Maintain highly available and resilient virtual desktop infrastructure with strict uptime requirements.
- Design, build, and manage golden images with performance tuning for demanding user workloads.
- Implement and maintain profile and application management solutions (DEM, FSLogix, App Volumes).
- Automate build, deployment, and lifecycle management using PowerShell and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Monitor and proactively optimize VDI performance across compute, storage, GPU, and network layers.
- Enforce endpoint hardening, patching, and security compliance standards.
- Support infrastructure scaling initiatives, upgrades, and global deployments.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventative improvements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience engineering VMware Horizon in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Experience managing Windows 10/11 enterprise desktop environments.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and enterprise authentication systems.
- Experience with profile management solutions (DEM, FSLogix).
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation.
- Deep troubleshooting capabilities across virtualization, OS, storage, and networking layers.
- Experience working in high-availability, performance-driven environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- VMware certifications (VCP-DTM, VCP-DCV).
- Experience in financial services or other high-performance environments.
- Experience with GPU-enabled VDI environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring and performance tools (e.g., vROps, ControlUp).
- Experience with hybrid cloud or zero-trust architectures.
