A leading global trading firm is seeking a proactive System Administrator to support its trading operations in Mumbai. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the office and trading infrastructure are fully operational before the trading day begins. Responsibilities include maintaining systems, resolving technical issues before they impact users, and ensuring the overall environment remains stable and ready for traders and internal teams.
The successful candidate will work closely with the broader IT Operations team and collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security specialists across the firms global technology organisation. The role requires a hands-on mindset, strong ownership, and the ability to independently identify and resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the reliability and day-to-day operation of the Mumbai office IT environment.
- Ensure all systems, workstations, and infrastructure are fully operational and ready before traders arrive each morning.
- Provide L1 support for internal teams on hardware, software, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Onboard new colleagues by setting up and configuring equipment, accounts, and system access.
- Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
- Proactively monitor the environment to detect potential problems before they impact users.
- Conduct regular system checks and preventive maintenance to maintain stability and performance.
- Carry out periodic audits to ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards.
- Automate, standardise, and document IT processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and manage the lifecycle of hardware and software across the office.
- Support activities within local data centres and coordinate with vendors when required.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve infrastructure issues and continuously improve the environment.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, ICT, or a related field.
- Experience working with Microsoft technologies including Windows 11, Windows Server, Active Directory, Intune, and Entra ID.
- Experience supporting end-user workstations and office IT infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently resolve technical issues.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and Kerberos.
- Basic knowledge of Linux systems.
- Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible is advantageous.
- Experience with virtualization platforms is a plus.
- Strong communication skills; proficiency in Hindi is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
