A leading global trading environment is seeking a High-Performance Linux Engineer to design and optimize the infrastructure powering real-time systems at scale. This is not a standard infrastructure role – you’ll be working in a highly customized bare-metal environment where every microsecond matters.
You’ll operate at the core of a performance-critical platform, shaping systems that must remain fast, stable, and precise under extreme conditions. From kernel-level tuning to large-scale automation, your work will directly impact how efficiently the entire technology stack performs.
What You’ll Work On
- Designing and operating a global fleet of high-performance Linux servers across multiple data centers.
- Building and evolving infrastructure that supports demanding, real-time workloads.
- Optimizing system performance at every layer, from hardware interaction to OS-level tuning.
- Developing automation-first solutions to improve scalability, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Using observability data to drive performance improvements and capacity planning.
- Exploring and implementing new technologies to push system performance and reliability further.
- Collaborating across infrastructure, networking, and software teams to solve complex, cross-domain challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage large-scale Linux infrastructure with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues quickly while continuously improving platform stability.
- Perform low-level performance tuning (CPU affinity, NUMA, HugePages, IRQ balancing, etc.).
- Bridge the gap between hardware and software to ensure optimal system interaction.
- Build and maintain automation tools using Python and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Manage provisioning and deployments using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Monitor system health using Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and similar platforms.
- Contribute to on-call rotations to support globally distributed systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in Linux engineering, including system administration, debugging, and OS provisioning.
- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, UDP/TCP, multicast, packet analysis).
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as eBPF, tcpdump, strace, lsof, and netcat.
- Proven expertise in kernel and hardware-level performance tuning (CPU pinning, cache optimization, BIOS/UEFI).
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Python and modern tooling.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, etc.).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity and drive to continuously improve systems and learn new technologies.
Benefits
- €150,000 – €300,000 total compensation, depending on experience
- Full relocation and visa sponsorship where applicable.
- Comprehensive health insurance and wellbeing support.
- First-class commuting and premium in-office perks, including meals and wellness services.
- Generous learning and development budget for certifications, training, and conferences.
- A highly collaborative, engineering-driven culture focused on performance and innovation.
