A leading global quantitative trading firm is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Manager (Europe) to lead a distributed team responsible for the physical infrastructure that underpins critical trading operations across the region.
This role combines technical leadership, operational ownership, and project delivery. You’ll oversee major infrastructure initiatives, including site expansions, colocation deployments, capacity growth, and migration programmes, helping ensure the environments supporting a high-performance trading business remain scalable, resilient, and efficient.
Working closely with networking, platform, systems, and operations teams, you’ll drive execution, improve operational standards, and develop a high-performing engineering team operating across multiple sites.
Your Impact
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers across Europe
- Deliver major infrastructure projects including colocation builds, migrations, and capacity expansion initiatives
- Drive operational excellence through process improvements, standardisation, and automation
- Coordinate cross-functional infrastructure projects with networking, platform, and systems teams
- Manage relationships with vendors, colocation providers, and third-party partners
- Balance competing priorities and ensure successful project execution across multiple locations
- Contribute to infrastructure strategy, scalability planning, and operational resilience
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring
- Experience leading technical infrastructure, operations, or engineering teams
- Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure projects in mission-critical environments
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and prioritisation skills
- Ability to operate independently and make decisions in fast-paced environments
- Experience working across multiple technical disciplines and distributed teams
- Strong organisational skills with a focus on execution and delivery
- Willingness to travel periodically within Europe
Preferred Experience
- Experience within data center, colocation, or critical infrastructure environments
- Background in financial services, quantitative trading, cloud, telecommunications, or other high-availability industries
- Familiarity with capacity planning, infrastructure lifecycle management, and operational risk management
- Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams
- Knowledge of physical infrastructure including power, cooling, cabling, rack deployments, and site operations
