Institutional Sales Trader – New York

This role places an experienced market professional right in the middle of the institutional trading landscape. As an Institutional Sales Trader, you’ll step into a position where market intelligence, relationship-building, and trading execution come together to shape how the firm engages with sophisticated counterparties across the U.S.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performance environment where traders, researchers and technologists work side by side. Your voice will be heard, your ideas valued and your impact visible as you help build meaningful partnerships and elevate how the firm provides liquidity and insight to institutional clients.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will:

  • Build, nurture, and expand relationships with asset managers, hedge funds and key institutional participants.
  • Work closely with trading teams to understand liquidity dynamics and communicate opportunities to clients.
  • Manage incoming order flow across multiple execution venues with precision and clarity.
  • Provide market color, trading perspectives, and insightful commentary that supports informed decision-making.
  • Develop detailed client profiles, performance summaries, and engagement insights to guide relationship strategies.
  • Keep client interactions organized and transparent by maintaining high-quality CRM documentation.
  • Represent the firm at conferences, events, and client meetings as a confident, knowledgeable ambassador.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities and help tailor solutions that meet evolving institutional needs.
  • Share market observations and client feedback internally to support strategy, product evolution, and execution excellence.

Who You Are

You’re someone who brings:

  • 2+ years of experience in institutional sales trading, capital markets or a similar sales/trading role.
  • A strong understanding of market structure, liquidity behavior, and institutional trading relationships.
  • A proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships across the institutional ecosystem.
  • Comfort handling a blend of automated and directed order flow.
  • Confidence presenting information clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Willingness to travel for client engagement and industry events.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant market regulations.
  • A bachelor’s degree and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Base salary range: $200,000 – $300,000
