A fast-moving trading firm in Hong Kong is hiring a Linux System Administrator to help maintain and improve a live, production trading environment. You’ll work closely with traders and software engineers on infrastructure projects, reliability improvements, and automation – with the freedom to design practical solutions and drive them through to completion.
What You’ll Do:

Maintain and improve Linux-based infrastructure and core services

Support internal teams with hardware/software troubleshooting and production issues

Automate, standardise, and document IT processes to improve reliability and speed of delivery

Manage data centre equipment (e.g., server rack installation and on-site hardware work)
-
Run periodic audits and enforce security + industry standards
-
Perform remote troubleshooting to diagnose issues in production
-
Own the server lifecycle: build, deploy, and retire systems and new solutions
-
Monitor performance, manage capacity, and keep environments stable and predictable
-
Ensure systems are in a consistent “ready-to-trade” state at the start of each trading day
What You’ll Work With:

Linux (Windows experience is a plus)

Servers and storage systems configuration + troubleshooting
-
Automation and configuration management (strong emphasis on Ansible)

Python and/or Shell scripting
-
Bonus: Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and/or Proxmox
Your Profile:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field

Strong Linux administration experience in a production environment

Comfortable managing multiple projects across different teams

Strong communication skills – able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Hands-on mindset: you’re happy working on everything from automation to data centre hardware
