What You’ll Be Working On
- Building high-performance Java applications that power systematic and electronic trading strategies.
- Developing trading algorithms, pricing engines and quantitative tooling used by front-office teams.
- Designing simulation platforms, backtesting frameworks and research infrastructure used to validate new trading ideas.
- Building scalable data pipelines and distributed applications supporting quantitative research and analytics.
- Developing internal automation, developer tooling and production systems that improve trading performance and operational efficiency.
- Working closely with traders and quantitative researchers to rapidly prototype, test and deploy new functionality.
- Optimising application performance, scalability and reliability across latency-sensitive production systems.
- Taking ownership of projects from design and implementation through testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of commercial Java software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with modern Java (17/21+) and object-oriented design principles.
- Excellent understanding of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, multithreading and JVM performance.
- Previous experience within trading, market making, exchanges, hedge funds or other capital markets environments.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to design clean, scalable and maintainable systems.
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle with ownership of production systems.
- Python experience is beneficial.
- Experience building distributed systems, research platforms or large-scale data processing pipelines is advantageous.
- Exposure to quantitative finance, pricing models or options trading is a plus.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
